It’s been quite a moment since i didn’t update this website. Not that good for a website tat supposed to be an online portfolio.. So, the time has come to change this situation.

Just a bit more patience and svetik.com will be totally up to date !

The heat came to Moscow again.. some people enjoy these +33′C (apparently we’re having the hottest days for the whole summer) on the beach, others, like me:), - in the office. However, both holiday makers and toilers are getting more and more sure that the world is going crazy changing.

As weathermen claim, they actually are already tired to record the temperature anomalies. 2007 in Russia has become the hottest for whole history of weather observations (that is 117 years). Just in Moscow there’ve been at least 23 temperature records set up, and 2008 doesn’t seem to stop the tendency. The richest month was April - 5 temperature records. And now, August, 16-17 have finally beaten the records of 1954! Thus, we already have at least 6 new records for the 8 months.

Personally, i don’t mind all this heat, at least it feels that we’re in summer now.. But this year we also had the record set up by rain - July had 171,4 mm instead of 168,5 mm in 1910!

And considering all the anomalies and natural disasters in other parts of Russia and all over the world in general, as well as the undisguised crazyness of some public persons (not putting a finger..), the slogan ‘Life’s short. Live it!’ takes on a really literal meaning..;)

I’ve been actually dreaming to live in this city for almost 12 years. Now i’m here, and i have to admit my perception has only improved. Yes, i knew Barcelona is one of the design capitals of the world (which is already more than just attractive for me), i knew about its great cultural heritage and architecture… but +20′C with the opportunity to enjoy the beach and the sea (not for swimming of course) in February.. that is smth really amazing!:)

While i’m saying that, somewhere not that far away (in Geneva to be more precise) one of the very interesting events is going to its end. I’m talking about LIFT - an annual conference intended to facilitate and promote discussion about new technologies and their impact on our society. Among the presenters lists this year there were no such notorious names as we could see at the Event Apart, for example, although LIFT is still a great accelerator.

Coming back to the home subject, there’s a song rotating everywhere at the moment.. quite stupid but definitely catchy.. enjoy!;)

Have i already mentioned that i love traveling..?:) Most probably yes.. and just now i realized that i�got 92% of the world still unexplored.. but it’s never too late (i hope;)

Wedding Daze..or The Pleasure of Your Company..or..:)

Today�i watched Wedding Daze.. the movie is just great, such a combination of incompatible things.. really funny:) and though such movies don’t make you think usually -�i still tried:) is it really possible to meet a person and to realize that he/she is the one just in a couple of days?..or our Soviet government was right for a change when a couple couldnt get married just immediately and had to wait for a month thinking whether they REALLY wanted to get married?;))

And one more thing surprised me about this movie.. it has 3(!) titles.. Wdding Daze, The Pleasure of Your Company and The Next Girl I See.. the directors of the movie must be quite irresolute..:)

and it seems like the summer is over..

Seems unbelievable now but just a bit more than a week ago i was so far away from dusty city streets, traffic jams and everyday routine. And just a bit more than a week ago i had everything i needed to admit that i was really happy.
Cyprus was just great though very different from my memories of 2 yrs ago (perhaps ~~i’m getting older~~ it’s just the ambience of this holiday) BUT it definitely wasn’t worse - only better:) And despite all the troubles we faced while deciding where to go and trying to find some common ground, finally we had a great time with lots of fun and saturated by different doings.
And coming back to reality.. at times it’s way too difficult to realize that this summer is over and the fall is here.. i have to admit that time really flies..;)

All the good things come to an end..;)

Today i had my official graduation, and, yes, i got my first class degree in Global Economy:) The ceremony was very nice, we all wore mantles and graduation caps.. The Dean said a few words, presented us our diplomas (it all took just 30 mins maximum), and then the very long picture-taking process began.. alone, with parents, with group mates, with the Dean, in front of the uni and so on, and so forth.. everyone tried to take a picture, so�we didn’t even know which camera to look at;)) anyway, it was a good fun.. though a bit tiresome. Some of the pics are here. And tomorrow we have our graduation exercises (or just a party;).. BUT..it’s another story, and i’ll talk about it later:)

Have you ever�thought that some events in future are just so far away�you cant even imagine them to�happen? I’m sure you have. So, for me it’s the same: just 5 yrs ago when i entered my uni, the graduation seemed�way too unreal and illusive.. but time flies and when i look back, these 10 semesters with their difficulties and nice moments strike me as one day.. And apart from being obviously important and happy event in my life it’s turning out to be a bit sad.. Maybe now i’d have changed smth in my student life, done smth in a different way.. even choosen different speciality.. maybe.. but�as whatever�we do, it will be for the best, i’m definitely not sorry about anything.. anyway, hope my student life has not�ended yet, and i’ll have the opportunity to consider�all my slips soon;)

Je seulement voudrais te dire que le week-end dernier a été formidable et que je suis�très heureuse�avec toi. Tu es gentil, sympa, juste génial.. et je pourrais continuer sans cesse, donc parfois je me demande si tu es réel parce que ça ce n�est pas possible qu�une personne peut réunir tout cela en soi..�;)) je rigole bien sûr, mais comme on dit chez nous ‘dans chaque blague il y a une partie de blague’ en changeant une expression très connue ‘dans chaque blague il y a une partie de verité’..;)) Enfin bref, j�avoue que c�est assez des compliments pour l�instant, sinon tu vas te colorer.. �maybe�..�;))

Back from the Paradise:)

So, i’m back home after 2 weeks of real paradise! Sunny hot weather, azure ocean and sea, smiling friendly people and lots of unforgettable impressions - all that can be called with just 2 words - Caribbean islands:) It’s such a pity to realize that all the good things�irreversibly come to an end once. But on the other hand,�i still believe that with every new experience a person gets something which creates his or her world outlook. And as for such great experiences - they definitely will leave a trace in my memory. I know, it’s really hard to communicate all my emotions with words but at least i tried:) and if i didn’t succeed a lot in it,�perhaps pictures will do it better..:)�
